Jason Day was born on November 12, 1986, in the home of Beaudesert residents Elvin Day and Denning Day. 

His father, Elvin Day, was Irish Australian and his mother, Denning Day, originated from the Philippines.  Jason has two siblings called Yanna and Kim. When he was eight years old, his family shifted to Rockhampton. Before that, he was a junior player at Beaudesert Golf Club, where he was enrolled at the age of six. When Jason resided at Rockhampton, he was already the winner of many golf events in the surrounding districts. 

Unfortunately, at the age of 12, he found his father died of stomach cancer.  That was a very tough moment for him.
